Go Chargers!

What can I say...FOOTBALL SUNDAY in January!!! Nothing like it. Today will be a great game which I hope I don't get too emotional over. I haven't been too emotional over football in years. I'm old enough to realize that these multi dollar millionaires make enough money and if they win: Great. Lose: we move on to next year.

Exercise helps take care of those emotions througout the week! BW circuits this morning...

Chargers vs Steelers....very reminiscent to the playoff game back in the 94 Season when we upset them for our first trip to the Super Bowl (and got our asses whupped by the Niners in Miami).

Go Bolts!!!! Being a big sports fan this is what it's all about! Win here...we host the AFC Championship Game...against the powerful defense with Ray Lewis and the Baltimore D.

One more year of maturity for Rivers and a gimme-putt for supremacy in the AFC West. No reason that the Chargers won't vie for the AFC title in '09.; January 12, 2009 at 8:43 AM

Hello and welcome to my blog! My name is Andy. I'm 34 years old, married to a loving wife who's tremendous support has helped me continue this journey forward. I'm a Registered Nurse, a father of 3 year old twin boys and a new born that will be turning 1 soon. Not busy enough for you? I also work at 2 different institutions as an RN just to meet financial needs to provide for my family...

It would be so easy to pinpoint these reasons alone as not to want to make a healthier lifestyle because anyone can easily say "my life is just way too busy right now"...Excuses? Not anymore.

The road to a healthier lifestyle was tough. I wasn't born overweight...but did have periods in my life where eating took the best of me. I was in a very unhealthy state of being. Living on the edge was something common at the time in my early adulthood. Enthusiasm to live a healthier lifestyle was lost in the mix as a result of that. In 2006 and with a fairly young family to boot, I made a decision that this lifestyle had to change for fear of never making it to see my own kids' children one day...otherwise it would literally be a dead end for me. Losing weight is probably the most toughest decision to make from a personal standpoint and I'm sure others will agree. To make the decision, to plan it out and to act on it consistently is key. But what really motivated me to want to achieve my fat loss goals? What is that one reason why I wanted to lose weight? That's a tough question very few will ever find in themselves. It's takes a conscious effort to begin with and a desire from within to make it work. It takes alot of motivation from your loved ones, you friends and most importantly: from the person you see in the mirror everyday. That was my motivation and I am continuously looking for more motivation to carry on with this journey - so I welcome everybody's comments and suggestions. As goals get reached, plateaus are broken...how hard can finding my motivation in a consistent basis keep me on the right track towards a better me and a better life not only for me but those dear to me?

In 2006 I was extremely overweight...care free and when it came to losing weight, I was always the one to put it off. Then a good friend of mine re-introduced me to working out so I got a gym membership in July of 2006 and from 217 lbs, I dropped to 180 in a span of about a year...slowly but gradually I noticed the changes were showing.
